Plastic-free vineyard: our concrete commitment to sustainable viticulture

Together towards a plastic-free vineyard!

Three years ago, we chose to look beyond traditional practices and initiate a change: reducing plastic use in vineyards and adopting more sustainable solutions. Today, we are proud to share a significant milestone: the second phase of the "Plastic-Free Vineyard" project is now a reality .
Plastic has long been used in vineyards—from protective sheets to grape supports. Useful, yes, but also harmful to the environment. Recent studies show that even small amounts of plastic in the soil can disrupt the natural balance, slow plant growth, and threaten soil life.
With the support of students and teachers from ISSIS Cerletti in Conegliano, No Plastic Girls, Legambiente, and Sabiomaterials, we experimented with new compostable materials and achieved tangible results. In the vineyards of Farra di Soligo, the amount of plastic collected was already below average, but in our biodynamic vineyard—where our COL DI MANZA Prosecco Superiore DOCG extra dry Millesimato is born—we achieved a 92.7% reduction.
We chose biodegradable ties and low-impact techniques because we believe in ecological viticulture that respects both the land and the future.
As Ivo Nardi says:
“Change is not only in the materials, but in the way we look at cultivating tomorrow.”
Our commitment continues, step by step, toward an increasingly sustainable vineyard. Because to cultivate well also means taking care of the world that hosts us.
